Storytails is a non-profit making event, but does incur some running costs, so donations given at the event are gratefully received.  Any profit made is donated on alternating months to local Hackney based charities North London Action for the Homeless, and Off Centre.

North London Action for the Homeless is a Stoke Newington based drop-in centre for local vulnerable and homeless people. They provide advice, a vegetarian 3 course meal, translating services, outreach work, clothes and friendship twice a week. The organisation is mainly run by local volunteers.  For more information, visit: www.nlah.org.uk

Off Centre works to promote, preserve and restore the mental health and well-being of young people aged 13-25 who live, work or study in Hackney.  The charity was established to work with young people who have experienced trauma, emotional distress, discrimination and disadvantage.

Off Centre has built up 35 years of expertise in the field of young people and the issues that affect their Mental Health and well-being. They see almost 1000 young people a year but for every one person seen, three are turned away due to a lack of resources.  

The organisation provides support across the whole spectrum of issues young people face, from bullying to sexual abuse.  They also deliver specialist programmes such as:  suicide and self harm; sexual health; separation and loss; young men's early intervention (with a clear focus on gangs, guns & knives) and victims of crime.
